About Me
Â
Hi, I’m Terrilyn, and I’m so happy you’re here.
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve spent decades teaching music—voice, piano, ukulele, private lessons, and classroom music—and after having my own babies, one thing kept standing out to me. Music IS connection.
When I had my own babies I realized there was a huge gap when it came to music for our youngest learners—especially babies and their caregivers.
I knew, from experience and from research, how powerful music is. It builds connection, supports early development, and creates joy. But in my community, there simply weren’t enough programs that truly supported babies and the adults who love them.
That’s where the vision for Making Music Academy began and then after this digital course for new parents globally.
While I was on maternity leave with my second child, Ellora, I found myself experiencing music in a whole new way—singing, moving, bonding, and watching how deeply my baby and 3-year-old, Isla, responded. It was covid and we were isolating and that is what kept us connected. That’s when my passion turned into a mission.
I began developing an early childhood music and movement program designed specifically for babies from birth to preschool—and for the moms and caregivers walking alongside them. I wanted something nurturing, developmentally meaningful, and deeply connecting.
What started as small, community-based classes in five different locations quickly grew—because families were craving this kind of space. Today, Making Music Academy has a beautiful commercial home and continues to grow beyond anything I first imagined.
I created this program, The Rhythm Between Us because I believe those early months matter. Because music is one of the very first languages our babies understand. And because moms deserve a supportive, joyful place to connect—with their babies and with each other. Music is a language that we both can feel.
This course is an extension of that vision. It’s about slowing down, making music together, and building a foundation of connection, confidence, and joy—right from the very beginning. And, this course can reach parents ALL over. Caregivers and their littles can learn from this course anywhere in the world.
I’m so honoured to be part of your family’s musical journey. I’m so happy you are here <3-
